Charlie leads Howden’s carbon insurance business, working with project developers and investors to develop new insurance products to de-risk every step of the credit lifecycle. The team has brought to market numerous industry firsts with the goal of using insurance to unlock capital and catalyse the growth of carbon markets. Previously, Charlie led the commercial team at Toucan Protocol, a high growth blockchain startup that pioneered the tokenisation of carbon credits, and before that launched Trillion Fund, the first peer-to-peer renewable energy funding platform, and founded Stowga, a warehouse marketplace that as CEO he led through to exit. He began his career at JPMorgan where in 2006 he helped start the Environmental Markets desk. There he focused on the origination, structuring and sales of carbon credit portfolios and built a successful global team that services governments, financial institutions and corporate clients.
