Dr Raveem Ismail is Head of Parametric at Africa Specialty Risks and brings more than a decade of experience in underwriting, risk analysis and modelling.
Prior to joining ASR, Raveem was Chief Underwriting Officer and CEO of QOMPLX:UNDERWRITING, a UK MGA where he launched the first multi-peril parametric insurance cyber and terrorism product, tailored for small to medium-sized enterprises and backed by Chaucer. Raveem will drive this very innovative account forward on the back of a career with deep experience in the field and breadth of contacts in the market, his previous product having won the National Insurance Award (2021).
Born in the UK, Raveem is a triple graduate of Oxford University, where his doctorate was in Atmospheric, Oceanic & Planetary Physics. He was chair of the Reinsurance Special Interest Group for EU COST Action IS1304 on Structured Expert Judgement.
